Exam week! The most stressful week for any student who has ever attended school. Luckily for English we have self reflection as our exam grade. That is quite interesting because I have a lot to reflect on, which also could be an issue because the last thing I want to do is carry on forever and ever talking about all the little thing that occurred over this short 12 weeks. Personally I think this will be my favorite assignment this trimester, just because I get to talk about this things I want to talk about and just pour my heart out and look back on everything I did! Ah! It is so exiting to think about! Sure, that might be weird to say, how I want the exam to be right now and how that is all I have been thinking about and which angle I want to attack from and just all these things. It gives me a lot of joy to see where I came from, especially with all the struggles I have endured throughout my lifetime I like to reminisce a little, I do not believe that is a crime, right? I think the reason I do this is because I can use my experiences as teaching abilities and ultimately help other individuals out who are also struggling with certain things. I am just blessed that I have had this experience in my senior english and I am exited to continue down the road of success! http://time.com/3854469/college-stress-exams-tips/ |

One more week left then I will be one third of the way done with my senior year, that crazy to think that. I am really exited to start my freshman year of college in the fall. I will be so much fun (not from the partying aspect). I have most of my general education stuff out of the way, I will only have to take a math and english credit for my beginning year but then I will be ready to start my graduate classes. The best part of that is, from what I have noticed in the college classes I am in right now, we use computers all the flipping time! That is all you do, I have not seen one person who is hand writing notes, that is crazy to think about. Sure, not everyone has a computer but those individuals are using their phones for audio purposes or taking pictures of the information that is on the board. I have to accredit myself and ability to be thrown into a college class and survive day one because I was already used to learning on a computer before. I love using the computers, especially the chromebooks. From someone who has a Mac the chromebooks helped set me up even more then I thought before. I actually use my google drive way, way, way more then I would of if I did not have this english class. Everything is so much more organized and simplified on google drive. It is so useful especially if I do not bring my laptop to the library or I am somewhere and just need to quick access something, I guess high school really does prepare you for the real word, and the real world now is all electronic! http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/zxbwjxs Nearing the end of this trimester it is crazy to think that I actually gained skills in an english class. I can actually see a ton of growth from the very first day I walked in. I learned how to write and just write and do not stop for anyone or anything. This allowed me to grow as a writer and figure out exactly what I needed when I started to write. I saw how I would start off writing and then transition from lets say a darker text into a lighter happier text near the end. What really impressed me was how well my transitions were, I would always end up bringing it all together. I love how everything has turned out. I really do, it is amazing to see my writing about certain topics that I would never of even attempted to write about. The only way I can put it into words is the feelings off riding in a convertible car going down the coast and having your hair blowing in the wind (sorry for those who do not have a lot of hair) and you are just enjoying life that is the ultimate feelings and that is exactly what writing gives me, that freedom. I am not sure if I ever expressed the love I have for creative writing. I will admit my recent writings have not been "spectacular" but dealing with certain family issues have prevented me from having the best of moods lately. Creative writing is so fun, just throwing your thoughts out there and making something out of what didn't use to be there. I find it especially easy when I am listening to music, it also depends what I am listening to because I can be listening to some Frank Sinatra and write about love. On the other hand I could be listening to some Dr. Dre and end up writing about me being a gangster in the south side of Chicago. It is all a matter of what mood you are in, and that is what is key when writing, the mood you want to establish. Do you want the reader to be captivated and start to question their existence on this planet or would you rather have them laugh like they are at a comedy club? Either or it does not matter, all that matters is the fact that you are writing about what you want to write about. http://www.npr.org/2011/06/01/136859090/the-power-of-music-to-affect-the-brain What happens when you attempt to work that includes only your friends? You end up doing most of the work. I do not mind that in all honesty especially since I know what work is going into the project. If anything it is just going to prepare me for college. Well that being said most college assignments are individually given out. That is crazy to think that in no time I will be graduating and then getting ready to move out and go to college. I am just glad that this senior year has been more informative and helpful, actually learning about stuff we need in the future instead of reading Frankenstein and analyzing the monster and how it was not given a name and then trying to compare that to your own life. Yeah, because we can all relate to that one, thanks Germain. On a lighter note I did finish The DaVinci Code. Now it is time to watch the movie! The only issue is I have to buy it. http://time.com/money/3980289/millennial-moving-out/ |
