You as a Reader
Alex learned to read when he was a just a young boy, along with most other young children. Most people learn to read from their family members, reading is not the only thing humans learn at a young age; other skills include speaking, walking, and writing for starters. Reading is something special, regardless of what people may say or perceive about reading it is a magical experience. Once you immerse yourself into a book, magazine, article, you forget about everything else. Your mind is focused on one thing and one thing only, the story. No matter what an individual is going through will be subdued once they pick that paper. Some may say they like reading because they imagine themselves in that scenario, off in a mystical realm ruling all that walks and talks. Sure, everyone has their own opinion on why they enjoy reading but in all reality they do not differ a whole lot. For Alex reading has always been a struggle, not in any form of proficiency or accuracy but mostly for keeping his interest up. Being a very picky person in general Alex certainly does not just willy-nilly pick a book.
You as a Writer
A lot goes into what determines picking a book, especially when you are inclined to spend hours reading in the moonlight. One of the great things that sets Alex apart from any other author, and reader, is his passion to make the best out of what is there. If you gave him a setting, couple characters, and a decent background you can watch as he morphs even the simplest of exchanges between characters to a masterpiece written by folks like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and even Stephen King. Alex has a unique style of writing that draws the audience in and holds them in until the final paragraph. If you want to become a good reader, let alone a good writer, you have to be able to take the time and learn, understand the concepts behind what truly makes a book. This is why Alex reads every day and night, approximately an hour total. The more comfortable you become with reading the more comfortable you will be when it comes to writing. Regardless of what you are writing about, if you put meaning behind it and change the way the audience thinks then you have successfully made a difference.
